NEP 2020: Word to the Wise- Introduction
My message board is filled with messages and news surrounding National Education Policy2020 of India. Each either praising highly or criticizing profusely. Then there are some articles that I have read have taken a balanced approach. I am being someone who believes in work and action and make things happen, I have already begun to think of the ways this National Education Policy can be made successful in my country India. Considering the complicated demography and a large population of India it is extremely complex exercise to make the new National Education Policy successful. It is imperative that there will be many experiments, trial and errors by all stake holders, to take the Indian Education system towards a futuristic leap. I am planning to start this thought chain to pack here everything that I know about teaching and learning and I hope the formulas and prescriptions suggested by me here on this forum will help the active teachers and Principals and other stake holders to take something positive to implement in their k-12 schools. For years as teacher, teacher trainer, academic consultant, academic content writer and school reviewer, I have been trying in my little way to raise levels of student achievement. Given that the challenge is still on to pursue excellence day by day, especially now in the challenging Covid 19 circumstances. This seems like a good time to gather my favourite practices together and share them. I feel that teachers want practical ideas and my experience tells me that quality of teaching and learning improves most readily when practice and theory inform each other. It is always helpful for us to know why things work, or they don’t; We must accept the fact that if we continue to do things same way, it is difficult to have different results. WITHOUT DEVIATION PROGRESS IS NOT POSSIBLE…… So readers keep reading this space for fairly secure truths about learning processes that will provide us with compass directions to follow, indicating the best if not the easiest ways forward. All the Best.
